Gmail Has Died, Long Live MobileMe

Relying on a Gmail account for work? Start looking for a new job.

Over the course of the past 48 hours, Gmail has been up and down more than a cheap yoyo.
Now, it's dead as a door nail and shows no signs of coming back to life any time soon.

I'd almost started to feel hopeful for the progress of Gmail, after it's official departure from 'Beta' back a few months ago. Seems I was over optimistic.
It's just as well that I only use Gmail for less important emails.

How's your Gmail holding up?

Well, it's interesting that the Gmail Notifier is dead, absolutely dead, stuck on "time out", but my client of choice, Apple Mail, seems to work decently.
I may have noticed some delays receiving messages, but I originally thought that it was because of the weird implementation of IMAP in Google's email service.

I just received an email... on APPLE MAIL. SO it's probably just the web interface that's gone wrong

UPDATE: If you have your Gmail account set up in IMAP mode through your mail client, everything should still be OK.

It just seems to be an issue affecting the web version.

I remember that day - open mouthed hitting refresh far more times than I should have. The day I realised I rely way too much on google calender rather than my own memory.

I was gonna say, Mail on my Mac has been receiving emails all week. Today, I tried to log on in Gmail.com and got that same error. Interesting…
